Summer was good. Didn't do much other than work, but it was a great time enjoying the sun, fun, and friends. Even though work was crazy and at times I was very frustrated with it, it was still good. Not a lot of problems, and I'm continuing to learn tons about hydraulics. With the start of the new school year, lots of things are kicking off at church and at work. So it will be an interesting time adjusting to new schedules and new programming.

It's times like this, that I realize that routine isn't always bad, and it's nice to have something that you know is going to be the same everything you go through it. It's like a nice comfortable friend that you know so well that you can predict how they will react to situations. Anyways, off to bed for me, hope to see you all more frequently.

Hooked

One thing about me that if you've ever met me, is that I'm a big sci-fi freak. Well I'm currently feeding my latest addiction. Battlestar Galactica. I love this re-imagination of the series, now I can't compare the two versions as I've never seen the orginal, and I'm not interested in a debate over which series is better. After buying the first half of season 2 and watching most of it twice, I just can't get over how immersive this series is. It really defines good television, it has a great mix of action, drama, a touch of comedy, and HUGE amounts of real human moments. The thing I find most interesting about the series is how it views religion. That and the fact that the Cylons, a computer based race believes in God. It's so interesting watching the religious views clash against each other, and even having some atheists in the mix makes life real interesting, real quick.

Needless to say, if you need to lose yourself in a show for an hour at a time. BSG is a good, gripping show that will take hold of you, and not let go.

WOOT

So, I'm back from Winnipeg. It was actually the nicest that it has ever been while I was there, so that was good. I passed my course with flying colors(whatever that means) so I'm pretty pumped about that. (Now I get my own smock with my name on it...oooooooohhhhh) Lots changed while I was gone, 2 new people hired, 2 promotions, and a new schedule. It should all work out for the best.

Sadly I didn't get to visit any friends while I was away, but on the upside I am having friends over tomorrow for my birthday party. It's kinda nice to see that that knowing the basics fairly well is paying off big time. It's nice to know that I actually did some learning inbetween courses. The huge downside to all of this, is that I've been away from my wife for a while, that's been really tough on me. I can't wait until I'm home, and can sleep in my own bed again. Anyways, that's all from waterpeg.

It might just become a habit

Hey look a second post in a month...I know whodathunkit. I'm sure that my brain will be absolutely fried beyond belief after that. But it will be all good, as I will be the first official level 2 hydraulics person in our stores history, so I feel pretty good about that.

I also just got a new computer and after a lot of troubles getting it running, I'm loving it. I don't know how I managed with a P3 733 for so long, but I did. Yep it's a thing of computing beauty.

The Flames are looking to be top of their division for the playoff run which is a good thing. The other good thing is that they aren't first overall, which actually is a bad thing statistically speaking. Just look up when the 1st place overall team won the Stanely Cup.

Oh yeah, and City of Heroes and Villians are two great games. If you like to design your own super heroe or villian, these are for you. I just can't get over how much fun I'm having with these games. Really truely check them out for yourself.

Long time...No Post

Well, lets see, I haven't posted since November, ah well. So, My training went well, had an awesome time with my buddy, we had a blast. The holiday season was crazy, but good, we got to go out to my folks for a couple days over Christmas and it was a great time. I got to see my grandma, that was great and while a little sad, at least I got to see her again. My folks came to see us in the new year, did some work on the house, discovered massive holes in our sewage stack, replaced the whole thing, and have painted the dinning room.

Work, well work is crazy, yeah busy is part of it, at the end of December we found out our boss was moving out to St. John's to open a new store for the company, so we are looking for a new boss, but the company doesn't want to do that until we have a new reginal manager in place...which is was working on since November, but still hasn't completed at this point, plus there are going to be two other stores needing new bosses at the same time as us, so what was supposed to be all wrapped up by this point in time, is now dragging on, and I doubt we'll have a new boss before April.

So what can be learned from all this? I don't know really but I'm loving life, even if I've been cranky of late, and things are going well.

Getting There

So things are going good. I can hardly wait to catch up with him, and to meet his family.

Nothing like Pressure

So yesterday we had a Senior VP in from home office, and he was holding meetings with everyone on the team. So when my turn came around I found out that not only am I in for Hydraulics school, I'm being fast-tracked for the next level of hydraulics. So now I have a senior VP in the company with his eyes on me. Not that, that is a bad thing, but it does add pressure to this, and, while I know that I can do this, it just takes my focus away from doing it. Anyways, this should be an awesome time, and I'm looking forward to it.

Hopes aren't worthless

So yesterday at work I was given a piece of paper that I've been after for most of the 4 years I've been there. Someone finally decided that I was worthy of applying to get into the Princess Auto Hydraulics course. So now I'm a little nervous, I don't want to screw this up, as I probably won't get another shot at this if I don' get in. So I'm going to take a couple of days and try to put together a good application.

Tough times at Work

First off, I love my job. I enjoy it a ton. No two days are the same, I like the oppertunities for learning and advancement, not to mention the ability to get around and see the country. However, this last week, while I was at a different store, man, did I ever have to work hard. I've helped with renovating stores, and other grand openings, but this one took the cake. I can honestly say, I've not been so tired, and worn out after any other single week at work as I was after this one. I just hope that this week I can take life a little easier.

Homes aren't easy

So this summer my wife and I became homeowners. Sadly we now have a house that the basement floods and we're looking at expenses that we can't afford to fix up our house. That's what happened to me, after 2 grueling weekds of non-stop running around, I slow down and I get in trouble. It's tough to want to keep working hard if all that's going to happen is that as soon as I stop working hard, I'm going to have someone upset that I'm not working as hard as I was before.

Ah well, that's life

Just a Rookie

I doubt anyone will actually read this post, seeing as I've told no one about the fact that I've signed up for a blog. Ah well, this is probably a good way to warm up to blogging.

So basically I've come to the conclusion, that when a group of people work together, that there is always someone that you are unhappy with. I mean the worst person in the world could have just quit, been fired, moved on, or transfered, and you'd think that you would be happy. Noooooo. There's always someone else to be unhappy with. Odd eh? So I'm challenging myself to not look at who I'm not happy with at work, but I'm going to try and find out who I am happy with, and focus on those positives, secondly I'm going to try and deal with everyone in a way that I would like to be dealt with. Sounds easy right? Well I guess I'll find out.

Anyways for those of you who might happen to read this, tune in later for the results.
